Egg in a Nest

aka, egg in toast.

Making dinner for myself tonight and I realize that I have nearly a dozen eggs, and Jeremy and I don’t eat eggs very often. So I made myself an egg! Having never made (or even eaten) an egg in toast, I actually Googled how to make it. Another easy recipe.

Basically, you butter a piece of bread, cut a hole in it, set it in a sprayed pan, and add an egg. Flip, cook, done.

As you can see, I used my star-shaped cookie cutter, because I felt like having more fun with it.

It was delicious, but not perfect. However, I think it’d be a great thing to make for kids for breakfast, especially if you use different fun cookie cutters, rather than just a circle.

Notes for next time: was a bit bland; maybe add a little cheese in the egg. Try to butter both sides of the bread so they both crisp up the same. Don’t use a large-sized egg; it doesn’t fit in the hole in the toast.
